Open Certified Course on Entrepreneurship
OPEN Karachi, with its zeal and vision to promote entrepreneurship, organized a workshop to help potential entrepreneurs realize their dreams. Despite the short notice it was a house full with 20 participants. 9 modules of the workshop, each of 75 mins, covered various aspects of a startup business. These modules were about ‘Introduction to Entrepreneurship’, ‘Idea Generation’, ‘Business Model’, ‘Investment Management’, ‘Elevator Pitch & Networking’, ‘Go to Market Strategy’, ‘Team Building’, ‘Using Technology in Entrepreneurship’, and ‘Registering your Business’. The speakers included, Mr. Omar Javaid, Incharge CED at PAFKIET; Dr. Shahid Qureshi, Program Director, CED at IBA; Mr. Afaque Ahmed, Founder and Chairperson at KITE; Junaid Qureshi, CEO SSJID; Dr. Zakiuddin, President OPEN Karachi; Azra Maqsood, Executive Director, INJAZ Pakistan; Farzal Dojki, Founder & CEO of Next Generation Innovation & CEO & Dot Zero; Nadeem Elahi, Country Head of TRG; Owais Afaq, Founder and CEO of Owais Afaq Consultancy; Anwar Kashif, Managing Partner of M/S. Saiduddin & Co. respectively. The program was well received by the audience due to the practical nature & richness of the content, thanks to the hands on entrepreneurial experience of speakers from OPEN Karachi network, which kept the audience gripped and engaged throughout the session. The workshop is meant to be a beginning of relationship between workshop participants and the OPEN Karachi; the participants would be invited to seek mentorship for their respective startups from the OPEN Network, so that energy which is built up during the sessions doesn’t fizzle out later on. The academic partners of this event included INJAZ Pakistan, DOT Zero, Seed Ventures, MIT Enterprises Forum and I2I(Invest 2 Innovate).
